Canceling Fitbit Premium takes less than two minutes — but only if you cancel through the right place.
That’s the part most guides miss. You must cancel through the same store where you originally subscribed.
If you subscribed through the Apple App Store but try to cancel through the Fitbit app, nothing will happen. Same goes for Google Play, the Google Store, and Fitbit.com.
This guide covers every method clearly, so you can cancel in one shot without going in circles.
Before You Cancel — Check Where You Subscribed
This is the most important step. Open your email and search for “Fitbit Premium” — find your original signup confirmation. It will tell you which store billed you.
| Where You Signed Up | Where to Cancel |
|---|---|
| Fitbit app (Google Account) | Google Play Store |
| Apple App Store | iPhone Settings → Subscriptions |
| Google Play Store | Google Play Store |
| Google Store (store.google.com) | Google Store account |
| Fitbit.com (old Fitbit login) | Fitbit.com — but see note below |
Important note for Fitbit.com subscribers: Google ended auto-renewal for annual Fitbit Premium subscriptions purchased on Fitbit.com as of February 29, 2024. If you were on an annual plan through Fitbit.com, it will not auto-renew. You may already be canceled. Check your account to confirm.
Method 1 — Cancel Fitbit Premium on iPhone (iOS)
If you signed up through the App Store or on an iPhone, cancel directly through iPhone Settings — not the Fitbit app.
- Open Settings on your iPhone
- Tap your Apple ID (your name at the top)
- Tap Subscriptions
- Find Fitbit or Fitbit Premium in the list
- Tap it, then tap Cancel Subscription
- Confirm when prompted
Your subscription stays active until the end of your current billing period. You will not be charged again after that.
Don’t see Fitbit in your subscriptions? You didn’t sign up through the App Store. Try Method 3 (Google Play) or Method 4 (Google Store).
Method 2 — Cancel Fitbit Premium on Android
On Android, Fitbit Premium is managed through Google Play — not inside the Fitbit app itself.
Through the Google Play Store app:
- Open Google Play Store on your Android phone
- Tap your profile picture in the top-right corner
- Tap Payments & subscriptions
- Tap Subscriptions
- Find Fitbit in the list
- Tap Cancel subscription
- Follow the on-screen prompts to confirm
Through Google Play on desktop (play.google.com):
- Go to play.google.com
- Sign in with the same Google Account you used for Fitbit
- Click the menu icon (three lines, top-left)
- Go to Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions
- Find Fitbit → click Cancel subscription
Paid via PayPal on Google Play? If your subscription doesn’t show up in Google Play, log in to your PayPal account and cancel the recurring payment from there directly.
Method 3 — Cancel via the Fitbit App (Google Account Users)
If you sign in to the Fitbit app using a Google Account, canceling through the app will redirect you to Google Play anyway. Here’s how it works:
- Open the Fitbit (or Google Health) app
- Tap the Today tab
- Tap your profile picture
- Tap Account Settings
- Tap Manage Subscriptions
- You’ll be taken to Google Play — follow the steps in Method 2 from there
Method 4 — Cancel via Google Store (store.google.com)
If you purchased Fitbit Premium directly from the Google Store — for example, when buying a Pixel Watch — cancel here:
- Go to store.google.com and sign in
- Click your profile → Orders & subscriptions
- Go to Your subscriptions
- Select Fitbit Premium
- Click Cancel Subscription and confirm
Method 5 — Cancel on Mac or Desktop Browser
If you originally signed up through a web browser:
For Google Play subscriptions (most users):
- Go to play.google.com in your browser
- Sign in with your Google Account
- Go to Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions
- Find Fitbit → Cancel subscription
For old Fitbit.com annual subscriptions:
- Go to fitbit.com and sign in
- Click your profile icon (top right)
- Go to Settings → Subscriptions and Payments
- Click Cancel Subscription next to Fitbit Premium
As noted above, annual subscriptions from Fitbit.com stopped auto-renewing in February 2024. If you had one of these, it likely already lapsed.
What Happens After You Cancel?
Here’s what changes — and what stays the same:
What you lose:
- Daily Readiness Score
- Sleep profile and advanced sleep analytics
- Premium workouts and guided programs
- Stress management tools and mindfulness content
- Wellness reports
What you keep:
- All your historical Fitbit data
- Basic step, heart rate, and sleep tracking
- Your Fitbit device — it still works fully
- The Fitbit (Google Health) app
Your Premium access continues until the end of your current billing period. You won’t lose anything mid-cycle.
Can You Get a Refund?
Short answer: Usually no.
Fitbit Premium subscriptions are non-refundable once a billing cycle has started. This applies whether you subscribed monthly or annually.
Exceptions where you may have a case:
- You were charged after canceling and have proof
- You were charged immediately after a free trial without warning
- You never used the service and canceled the same day
In these cases, contact support directly:
- Google Play billing issue: support.google.com
- Apple App Store billing issue: reportaproblem.apple.com
- Fitbit support: support.google.com/fitbit
If you were charged $85+ for an annual plan and believe it was an error, contact Google or Apple directly — not Fitbit. Billing disputes are handled by the store, not Fitbit.
How to Cancel a Fitbit Premium Free Trial
Canceling a free trial works exactly the same as canceling a paid subscription. Use the same method based on where you signed up.
The key thing: Cancel before your trial ends to avoid being charged. Fitbit does not send a reminder before your trial converts to a paid plan.
Check your original signup email for your trial end date, then set a calendar reminder a day or two before.
Is Fitbit Premium Worth Keeping?
If you’re on the fence, here’s a quick breakdown of what you actually get:
Worth keeping if you:
- Actively use the Daily Readiness Score to manage training load
- Follow Fitbit’s guided workout or sleep programs
- Have a health condition and share wellness reports with a doctor
Not worth it if you:
- Just want step counts, heart rate, and basic sleep data (all free)
- Already use a third-party app like Strava or Apple Health
- Haven’t opened the Premium features in the past month
At $9.99/month or $79.99/year, it’s a reasonable value for dedicated users. For casual trackers, the free tier covers most needs.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I cancel Fitbit Premium anytime?
Yes. You can cancel at any time. Your subscription stays active through the end of your billing cycle and then stops — no additional charges.
Why can’t I find Fitbit in my subscriptions?
You’re looking in the wrong place. You can only cancel through the store where you originally signed up. If you don’t see it in Apple Subscriptions, check Google Play, and vice versa.
Will I lose my Fitbit data if I cancel Premium?
No. All your historical data stays in your account. You just lose access to Premium features — not your data.
Can I pause Fitbit Premium instead of canceling?
No. Fitbit does not offer a pause option. Your only choice is to cancel and re-subscribe later.
What’s the difference between Fitbit Premium and Google Health Premium?
They are the same service. Google rebranded Fitbit Premium to Google Health Premium in 2025. The features, pricing, and cancellation process are identical.
I canceled but I’m still being charged — what do I do?
Contact the store where you subscribed (Google Play or Apple) directly. Take a screenshot of your cancellation confirmation as proof.
