Garmin Vivoactive 6 is already launched and available for purchase! While early leaks hinted at minimal design changes from the Vivoactive 5, the official release confirms valuable performance upgrades for runners.
This popular mid-range smartwatch is now on the market, bringing enhanced running dynamics, improved GPS tracking, and extended battery life.
If you’re looking for a versatile smartwatch that blends style with advanced fitness features, the Vivoactive 6 is ready to buy now.

Minimal changes to the design
Visually, the Vivoactive 6 is almost identical to the Vivoactive 5. The only noticeable change in the leaked images is a redesigned top button on the right-hand side.
The button now sticks out more instead of being flush with the case, which might make it easier to press during workouts.
Here are some pictures (which are not available on our website).

The colour options include four case variants: black, white, orange, and green. There are also matching strap and bezel combinations.
Here is the Vivoactive 5 for comparison. As you can see, the two buttons on the right side are flat. We don’t notice any other differences.
So far, there is no clarity on the case sizes. The Vivoactive 5 was launched in a single 42mm variant, which was a step backward from the Vivoactive 4, which came in 40mm and 45mm sizes.
Garmin may stick with one size again to streamline production. Still, multiple sizes make sense, given the broader fitness appeal of the series.
The Elevate V5 is likely to come.
In terms of sensors, the leak mentions the expected package: heart rate monitor, accelerometer, compass, and gyroscope. A barometric altimeter and ECG are missing from the list.
This isn’t very pleasant for some, as these sensors are on Garmin fans’ wish lists. Their absence reflects Garmin’s desire to keep the Vivoactive below the higher-end Forerunner and Venu lines.
Nevertheless, the inclusion of Garmin’s latest Elevate V5 heart rate sensor would be a real upgrade. The previous model was launched back in 2023 – so it used Elevate V4.
Version 5 offers better low-intensity tracking, better interval performance, and better accuracy in darker skin tones — all areas where V4 had room for improvement.
Running metrics take center stage.
While the Vivoactive series has traditionally targeted general fitness users, the leak suggests a focus on runners.
According to reports, the Garmin Vivoactive 6 will measure running dynamics, including vertical oscillation and ground contact time. This puts it on par with the functions of the higher-end Forerunner models.
Running performance and PacePro are also on the list. The former estimates effort in real time based on factors such as incline and wind.
At the same time, the latter provides split guidance based on the elevation of the route.
Together, these tools offer deeper insights into performance and planning — a helpful upgrade if it’s accurate.
VO2max measurement and other features that were included in previous models are also expected to return.
Garmin Vivoactive 6 Specs Not Yet Confirmed: GPS, Battery, and Price
Nothing is yet known about the GPS’s specifications, but integrated GNSS is almost inevitable. The AMOLED display is also expected to be carried over from the Vivoactive 5.
Garmin has traditionally not included a microphone or speaker in the Vivoactive series. So, it’s worth watching to see if the Vivoactive 6 follows this trend.
Battery life, pricing, and software updates remain unknown. But if Garmin sticks to the usual pattern, you can expect around 11 days in smartwatch mode and a price tag of 299 US dollars.
As with all leaks, these details will, of course, remain unconfirmed until Garmin officially announces them.
