IFA 2025 returns to Berlin Sept. 5–9, and will once again be Europe’s largest consumer tech expo. Over 150,000 visitors pack the Messe Berlin each year to see big gadget launches.
Wearables – from smartwatches and fitness bands to Smart Rings – are now everyday tech, and IFA is where the latest models often debut.
For example, at IFA 2024, companies showed off new bright rings and health trackers as well as TVs and smart-home gadgets.
In short, IFA is the stage to watch for next-generation wearables.
Why IFA Matters for Wearables
IFA started in 1924 as a radio fair and grew into the world’s top gadget showcase.
It’s essential for wearables because brands use it to present real products and prototypes, and gauge consumer reaction.
In recent years, IFA has seen the launch of high-end health gadgets and rugged fitness watches, not just “nice-to-have” wristbands.
Wearables today track everything from heart rate and sleep to stress and body temperature, and IFA shows the future of that tech.
As one report notes, last year’s IFA brought “unexpected launches” from wearables to smart home devices.
While IFA isn’t as Apple-centric (Apple always skips it), you’ll see big names like Samsung, Google/Fitbit, and niche brands all in one place, testing the waters for the next big trend in health and fitness tech.
Major Wearable Brands to Watch at IFA 2025
Google & Fitbit

Google’s hardware event on Aug 20, 2025, is expected to unveil the Pixel Watch 4. This newest Pixel smartwatch will likely be a headline item at IFA, even if it’s already been announced.
Leaks hint at a similar circular design with a bigger battery and faster charging. After Google acquired Fitbit, most smartwatch efforts shifted to Google’s Pixel line.
Fitbit itself has been “notably silent” in 2025. No new Fitbit devices have appeared in the first eight months of the year, likely due to the Google merger.
Industry analysts expect Fitbit to update its fitness bands, not its watches. For example, rumors suggest a Fitbit Charge 7 (two years after Charge 5) or a new Luxe 3 tracker could arrive.
In short, expect Google/Pixel at IFA more than Fitbit-branded watches; any Fitbit news will probably be a new fitness band or health tracker (no new Sense or Versa smartwatch seems likely).
Samsung

Samsung always makes a big splash at IFA. They essentially take over an entire hall for TVs, appliances, and their wearables.
In mid-2025, Samsung officially unveiled the Galaxy Watch 8 series (including the Ultra and Classic models). Those devices will be on display in Berlin.
In particular, the new Galaxy Watch 8 Ultra (a beefier, more rugged model) will likely be highlighted.
Samsung also launched its first bright ring, the original Galaxy Ring, at IFA 2024; a sequel, Galaxy Ring 2, is rumored but seems far off.
According to insider reports, Samsung has only just begun work on a Ring 2, so a 2025 release is “unlikely”.
In short, expect Samsung to demo the Watch 8/Ultra lineup prominently, but a second Galaxy Ring probably won’t appear until after 2025.
Zepp Health (Amazfit)

Zepp Health (maker of Amazfit wearables) has a strong IFA presence. At IFA Berlin 2024, they launched the rugged Amazfit T-Rex 3 adventure watch.
The T‑Rex 3 is a military-grade GPS watch with extra durability and long battery life. For 2025, Zepp/Amazfit has teased another announcement (via a separate mini-event near IFA), but details are scarce.
Some industry blogs speculate on an Amazfit T-Rex 4 or a new “Balance XT” device, but nothing official is known yet.
In any case, Zepp’s biggest hits have been value-packed outdoor watches, so expect them to show something new for adventurers – either a further T‑Rex upgrade or another specialized tracker.
Withings (Steel-Hybrid Smartwatches & Health Gadgets)

Withings is known for its hybrid analog smartwatches and home health devices.
They confirmed an IFA 2025 booth, and last year in Berlin, they unveiled innovative health gadgets.
For example, Withings showed BeamO, a “Star Trek–style” 4-in-1 health scanner that measures temperature, heart rhythm, lung and heart sounds, and SpO2.
They also launched the ScanWatch Nova Brilliant at IFA 2024 – a stylish hybrid watch (analog hands plus a small digital display) with advanced ECG and temperature sensors!
There are no confirmed leaks for 2025 from Withings yet, so we’ll have to wait and see if they bring another health device or a new hybrid watch.
Smart Rings
Smart rings are really taking off—these tiny wearables can track things like your sleep, heart rate, oxygen levels, and stress, all without a screen.
In 2025, brands like Oura, Samsung, and Ultrahuman are stepping up their game even more. IFA is usually packed with cool smart ring brands showing off what’s next.
For example, European startups RingConn and Circular often debut new versions, and established players Oura and Ultrahuman are expected to upgrade their models.
Oura’s Gen 4 Ring is on the market; Ultrahuman’s Ring Air is popular among athletes.
According to recent reports, several new bright rings are confirmed or planned in 2025 – e.g., a Circular Ring 2, a RingConn Gen 2 Air, Ultrahuman Ring Air 2, and even a Samsung Galaxy Ring 2.
In short, if you prefer wearing a ring to a watch, watch this space: more discreet health rings will likely be highlighted at IFA (even if many of the new rings will debut at CES 2025 or later).
Whoop (Recovery & Performance)

Whoop, the specialized fitness band company, just launched its next-generation trackers. On May 8, 2025, WHOOP revealed the WHOOP 5.0 and WHOOP MG bands.
These new devices boast 14+ day battery life and advanced sensors (even medical-grade ECG and blood-pressure insights on the MG model).
Because Whoop updated its hardware so recently, we don’t expect a brand-new Whoop device at IFA.
Instead, Whoop will likely focus on its software and new features: stress tracking, strain/recovery coaching, hormonal and recovery insights, etc., which the Whoop 5.0 family now emphasizes.
If you follow athletic performance and recovery tech, check out Whoop’s IFA presence – it will showcase its latest analytics tools even without a new gadget.
Other Brands: Honor, Motorola, etc.
Other companies of note include Honor and Motorola. Honor debuted its Watch 5 (with a 1.85″ AMOLED) at IFA 2024.
This year, Honor might bring a successor (e.g., “Watch 6”) or new health features, though no specific leaks are out yet.
Motorola is interesting: the iconic Moto 360 smartwatch is rumored to make a comeback in 2025.
A leaked report suggests Motorola is preparing a new round Moto 360 with a round display and classic crown button. The timing isn’t confirmed, but if true, IFA (or the fall tech season) would be an ideal place to show it.
In addition, many smaller wearable brands and side events (like Amazfit’s and fitness startups’) will pop up around IFA, so it’s worth scanning the complete exhibitor list for surprises.
Why You Should Watch IFA 2025
If you’re into fitness tech or just curious about tomorrow’s gadgets, IFA is worth following.
This show often reveals the significant trends for the coming year. In 2025, we expect to see:
- Smarter recovery and health monitoring: Wearables increasingly coach you on stress, sleep, and recovery, not just activity. (Whoop 5.0’s focus on longevity is one example.)
- Hybrid & stylish designs: Devices like Withings’ hybrids blend classic looks with health sensors. Many brands will push to make trackers more fashionable.
- Discreet wearables: Rings (Oura, RingConn, etc.) and clip-ons will offer stealthy health tracking for those who don’t want a wrist gadget.
- AI and smart features: Everything from voice assistants on watches to AI health insights (For example, Google’s Pixel Watch 4 is rumored to include Google’s Gemini AI assistant for on-watch help).
So grab some popcorn – or your favorite workout gear – and enjoy the IFA news flow from Berlin. You’ll get early clues about your next fitness tracker or smartwatch long before it hits stores.
Keep an eye on official announcements and on-the-ground tech blogs from Sept 5–9, 2025, to catch every major wearable reveal.
