Hey Suunto users! There’s a big update rolling out for the Suunto app — and it’s not just a small fix or a new icon.
This one actually makes the app easier to use and more helpful for your daily workouts and outdoor adventures.
Right now, the update is live for iPhone users (through TestFlight). If you’re on Android, don’t worry — your version should come later this month.
Here’s a quick look at what’s new and what could still be better.
What’s new in the Suunto August 2025 app update
A Cleaner, Easier Look

The app looks much cleaner now. The screens feel less crowded and easier to understand.
- Map View: The map screen now shows less clutter, so it’s easier to plan your run, bike ride, or hike.
- Activities Tab: Your past workouts are easier to find because they’re now on their tab — no more digging through menus!
Better Stats That Are Easy to Read

Suunto also made your training stats simpler.
Now you can clearly see:
- Your training volume
- Recovery time
- Progress over time
Before, this stuff was hard to read or felt confusing. Now it’s organized and makes more sense.
Plus, you can look at your stats for the past few days, weeks, or even months — which is great if you’re following a training plan.
And yes, the app still gives you training tips based on your workouts.
You Can Customize the App
Another nice update? You can now personalize the homepage.
That means you can choose what shows up when you open the app. Want to see your heart rate? Your step count? Sleep data? Weekly training load? Just add the widgets you care about.
Also, the Profile section looks better now — it’s easier to find your records and other stats.
But Still No Dark Mode
The one missing thing? Dark mode.
If you use the app at night, the bright white screen can be a bit annoying.
Many apps already have dark mode, so, surprisingly, Suunto hasn’t added it yet.
Let’s hope it’s coming soon.
How to Try the New App
- iPhone users can try the beta version now through Apple TestFlight
- Android users should get the update later this month — no exact date yet
How to Join the Suunto iOS Beta via TestFlight
If you’re itching to try the latest version of the Suunto app before it hits the App Store, you’re in luck — there’s a beta version available for iPhone users, and joining only takes a couple of minutes.
Here’s how to jump in:
🛠 Step 1: Grab the TestFlight App
First things first — head over to the App Store and download TestFlight.
It’s Apple’s official app for testing beta versions, and you’ll need it to access Suunto’s beta.
Just search “TestFlight”, hit download, and you’re good to go.
🔗 Step 2: Find Suunto’s Beta Link
Suunto doesn’t keep the beta a secret, but they don’t shout it from the rooftops either.
You can usually find the TestFlight invite link on:
- The Suunto Forum
- Suunto’s social media (like Instagram or Facebook)
- Their email newsletter
Once you get the link, tap it on your iPhone. It’ll open TestFlight automatically.
✅ Step 3: Join the Beta
Inside TestFlight, just tap “Accept” and then “Install.”
That’s it! You’ve got the beta version of the Suunto app on your phone now — fresh features and all.
🔁 Want to Switch Back Later?
No worries. If you ever want to return to the normal app version, just delete the beta and reinstall the Suunto app from the App Store. Easy.
